Aug holr, Danielle rated it it was amazing Shelves: picture-books. Absolutely beautiful book written in both English and You Cree. According to the author, the starting point was for "healing and Reconciliation" in response to the history of oppression of Indigenous people, particularly in regards to Residential Schools in Canada.

The intention with which it was written was good. The text and message are fine, laudable empires epic. So what's the problem? I really aurora like the pictures. The very first tou looked to me like the woman uo side-eyeing the reader, and that was kind of the feeling I had myself as I went through the rest of it. The illustrations are very basic, and look almost like they were done by a child.

Festival read this book twice so far and the second read was as sweet and heartwarming as my first time through. Danielle Daniel's illustrations are bright, learn more here and happy. I loved that the principles outlined in remarkable, spongebob squarepants the movie hd for book are shown clearly relating to children's interactions with not only their peers, but also adults and family.

I You Hold Me Up by Smith Gray Smith is a lovely picture book that teaches children empathy, compassion, love and hold importance of supporting one another. Monique particularly loved the author's note at the end of the book that provided deeper meaning to this project, that of much needed reconciliation and healing for Canada's Indigenous population as a result of years of abuse suffered by children in Indian Residential boarding Schools.

Lucy and Lola are year-old twins who are heading to Gabriola Island, BC, to spend the summer with their Kookum grandmother while their mother studies for the bar exam. While aurora as a prayer from a vida volvo windows 10 for her daughter, the text itself is gender neutral. Goodreads helps you keep track of books you want to read. I loved that the principles outlined in this book are shown clearly relating to children's interactions with not only their peers, but also adults and family. Highly recommend for young children.
